Comp Cams GM Applications Xtreme Energy DLC Hydraulic Flat Tappet Lifter .842in Dia. - 8 Cyl

Vendor: COMP Cams

COMP Cams® introduces a high-quality yet affordable alternative to hard-to-find traditional iron flat-tappet lifters for popular solid and hydraulic flat-tappet applications. The new Xtreme Energy™ Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coated flat-tappet lifters feature a DLC surface treatment, producing a flat-tappet lifter with an extremely hard, tough, and slick face that reduces friction at the cam lobe. This coating also extends the life of the lifter and camshaft, significantly reducing the likelihood of a flattened cam lobe. DLC-coated lifters are compatible with all steel and cast-iron camshafts and have been durability tested on a Spintron, simulating entire racing seasons with outstanding results. Available for Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Ford, Chrysler, and AMC applications requiring flat tappets and are available as singles or I4/I6/V6/V8 sets.

  • Diamond-Like Carbon coating provides an extremely hard, slick, low-friction surface that dramatically reduces wear and friction between the lifter/cam lobe, improving durability and reliability in high-load performance applications.
  • Validated through rigorous endurance and load-cycle testing, these lifters are engineered with geometry and surface-finish characteristics that promote controlled contact stress during flat-tappet camshaft break-in.
  • Fully compatible with all cast-iron and steel camshafts, ensuring stable surface interaction, controlled contact stress, and dependable performance across both OEM and high-load performance valvetrain materials.
  • Delivers sustained, high-stability performance under race-level thermal and mechanical loads.
